Athletics launches new annual giving club
On Giving Tuesday, UHV Director of Athletics Ashley Walyuchow announced a new annual giving initiative, the UHV Jaguars 2008 Club.
The 2008 Club will help UHV Athletics provide a better experience for student-athletes through providing equipment, travel expenses, additional scholarship support and enhancing gameday environments.
"Funds raised through the 2008 Club will enhance our operations to the benefit of our student-athletes," Walyuchow said. "This will allow us to enhance scheduling opportunities for each of our teams. As the only collegiate athletic program in the Crossroads Region, we want go to new heights. I believe ongoing support generated from this annual giving program will put us on a path to our first national title and more to follow."
The 2008 Club, named in honor of UHV's first season of competition, offers five different levels with varying donor benefits. The levels are as follows:
- Rookie: $20.08 annual gift
- Letterwinner: $200.80 annual gift
- All-Conference: $20.08 per month (recurring monthly gift via credit or debit card= $240.96 annually)
- All-American: $2,008 annual gift
- Hall of Famer: $20,080 one-time gift (Lifetime Member-payable over four years)
"Community support is vital to the success of athletics at small universities," Walyuchow said. "We designed the 2008 Club so everybody can get involved and have a stake in our success without breaking the bank.
"Investing in athletics also promotes physical well-being, teamwork, and leadership skills among students, contributing to their overall development and preparing them for life after college athletics."
UHV boasts 25 NAIA National Tournament appearances and 20 team conference championships since beginning play in 2008. Over that time, the Jaguars have produced 29 NAIA All-Americans.
