AUSTIN – The UHV men's soccer team fell 2-0 to Huston-Tillotson University in Red River Athletic Conference play on Saturday at Onion Creek Soccer Complex.
With the loss, the Jaguars fall to 4-2-2 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.
Junior goalkeeper Tyler Kaeppeli set a new career-high with nine saves in the loss, improving off a career-high he set last week against Texas A&M-Texarkana.
UHV managed to get 14 shots off against the Rams (2-3-2, 1-3-1) and forced seven saves out of HTU goalkeeper Juan Acosta.
Junior Baillie O'Reilly and freshman Dario Elsen led the team with three shots each, with both putting two shots on goal.
The Rams took the lead in the 24th minute on a goal from Wesley Albright on an assist from Octavio Lopez. Lopez added the brace in the 85th minute.
The Jaguars return home Thursday to face University of the Southwest, and next Saturday against Paul Quinn College.
