#17/#14 Men’s golf battles back for 2nd at Claud Jacobs Invitational
The UHV men's golf team used a strong second day to climb up the leaderboard and take home some hardware at the UHV Claud Jacobs Invitational at the Victoria Country Club.
The No. 17-ranked Jaguars shot a combined three rounds of 301-296-291—888 (+24) to finish second only to the 2024 runner-up Texas Wesleyan. The final round 291, highlighted by Nathan Biais' four-under 68, helped UHV make up a five-stroke gap between them and Texas A&M-San Antonio.
Biais (73-76-68—217) finished T-11 to lead the way for UHV after a bogey-free final round in which he carded four birdies.
Paul Chopin went 75-72-75—222 to finish T-20 as the Jaguars' next-best finisher. The junior from France had an eagle on the Par 5 first in Monday's second round.
Lucky Boonsrirat was consistent this week, going 75-74-76—225 to finish 28th. In 36 holes, the New Braunfels native had just two holes worse than bogey.
