ALEXANDRIA, La. – A late second-half goal killed the UHV men's soccer team's upset bid on Saturday.
The Jaguars fell 1-0 to No. 25-ranked Louisiana Christian in Red River Athletic Conference play at Johnny Downs Sports Complex on a goal in the final 10 minutes.
Lucas Lima scored the eventual winner on Saturday in the 82nd minute.
UHV (6-4-2, 4-4-1) had seven total shots on Saturday. Freshman Mathias Jorstad led the team with two.
Junior goalkeeper Eric Thust made six saves between the posts for the Jaguars.
UHV returns home to face Xavier (La.) on Thursday and North American on Saturday for senior day.
