No. 24 Jags wrap up play at the Texas Wesleyan Spring Invitational
FORT WORTH – The No. 24-ranked UHV men's golf team finished play at its final regular season tournament.
The Jaguars finished sixth in the Texas Wesleyan Spring Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at Squaw Creek Golf Course, shooting 291-291-305—887 over the course of the three rounds.
Reigning Red River Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week Joshua Van der Wath turned in UHV's best individual finish with a tie for 12th.
The senior from Johannesburg South Africa went 71-72-73—216 (+3) to finish inside the Top 15 of the field of 59 golfers.
Sophomore Nathan Biais went 71-73-76—220 (+7) to finish 23rd with Paul Chopin not far behind in T-26 after rounds of 73-71-78—222 (+9). Biais was tied for second in the field for birdies made with 14 across the three rounds.
Hugo Panos finished T-41 (76-75-78—229) and Edgar Hinojosa finished T-49 (80-76-80—236).
The Jaguars next compete at the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament held at The Golf Club of Texas in San Antonio May 5-6.
