#17/#16 Men’s Golf wraps up first day of Schreiner Shoot-Out
KERRVILLE – The No. 17-ranked UHV men's golf team sits tied for fifth after the first round of the Schreiner Shoot-Out at The Club at Comanche Trace.
The Jaguars shot an opening round 302 (+14) at the Par 72 course to share fifth with Red River Athletic Conference foe Our Lady of the Lake. Odessa College, which is ranked third in the NJCAA, leads the tournament.
Nathan Biais and Lucky Boonsrirat share 14th after each shooting 74 in the opening round.
Biais turned in five birdies while Boonsrirat had three.
Joshua Van der Wath is in the Top 20 at T-17 after shooting a 75. The Johannesburg, South Africa, native also had five birdies on his card.
Paul Chopin shot a 79 and sits T-34. Edgar Hinojosa is in 51st after shooting an 85.
The tournament wraps up with one round tomorrow.
