HOUSTON – The UHV men's soccer team had four different players score in a shutout win over North American University on Saturday.
The Jaguars beat the Stallions 4-0 at Dulles High School thanks to three second-half goals. It's UHV's second consecutive win.
Freshman forward Yahir Pena opened the scoring in the 19th minute with his second goal in as many games with Osiel Robledo providing the assist. The Pharr, Texas, native Pena scored the game-winning goal in the Jaguars (9-3-1, 7-3-0) 2-1 win over Xavier (La.) on Thursday, as well.
Ryan Naidoo doubled the Jaguars' lead four minutes into the second half with his first goal this season. Jose Luis Sanchez provided the assist on Naidoo's goal, the fifth assist this season for Sanchez.
Adam Thompson notched his first goal of the season in the 82nd minute before Diby Kouassi capped the scoring in the 87th minute with his third goal of the season. Houston native Jose Martinez provided the assist on each of UHV's final two goals.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Kaeppeli made five saves to earn his seventh shutout of the season, which ranks fifth all-time for a single season at UHV.
UHV outshot the Stallions (6-6-0, 5-5-0) 17-10 on Saturday and peppered nine shots on goal.
The Jaguars will continue their road trip Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake before returning home for senior day against Texas A&M-San Antonio on Oct. 28.
