The UHV men's soccer team will hope to keep its winning streak alive when it heads to Dallas to face Paul Quinn College at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Jaguars (7-1-1, 6-1-0) enter Saturday's Red River Athletic Conference match on a four-game winning streak after a 3-2 win over University of the Southwest on Thursday.
Graduate senior Karlo Lopez scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute to lift UHV past the Mustangs. It was the sixth career game-winner for the Corpus Christi native, and 16th goal overall.
Lopez was the 12th different Jaguar to score this season. Mateo Canales bagged his fifth goal of the season in the win, tying the team lead. Matthew Albury's 35th-minute goal made him the ninth UHV player with multiple goals this season.
Ryan Naidoo's assist on Albury's goal brought his season total to five, which ranks second in the RRAC.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Kaeppeli ranks second in the conference with a 0.82 goals against average. The Vernon, British Columbia-born shot stopper leads the conference in shutouts with five this season.
Saturday will be the seventh meeting all-time between UHV and the Tigers. The Jaguars hold a 6-0-0 advantage in the series, including a 2-0 win at home in last year's meeting.
Paul Quinn (0-10-0, 0-7-0) enters Saturday after a loss to Huston-Tillotson on Thursday.
