The UHV women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Schreiner on Wednesday in non-conference play.
The Jaguars (3-2-3) fell despite a second-half effort which saw them out-shoot the Mountaineers (1-6-0) 5-1 in the second half.
UHV had four shots in the final 15 minutes of the match with shots from Andrea Aborqui and Chloe Spencer being saved by Schreiner goalkeeper Kassandra Gomez. Aborqui and Spencer led the way with two shots each on Wednesday.
Freshman goalkeeper Franciezca Blancaflor made a season-high four saves in her second career start for the Jaguars.
Schreiner's Natalee Talley scored the game's only goal in the 14th minute.
UHV will be back in action Saturday as they host Red River Athletic Conference foe Huston-Tillotson at 1 p.m. for Youth Soccer Appreciation weekend.
