The UHV women's soccer team drew with Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday in the second match of the season.
The match finished 3-3 after the Jaguars (0-0-2) out-shot the Lady Lions 28-7 with 14 shots on goal. The result extended UHV's regular season unbeaten run to nine matches.
UHV led 1-0 at halftime after Kaitlyn Kongdara's first goal of the season in the 30th minute. Clara Strand and Trine Stenderup-Jorgensen each provided an assist on the goal for the Saginaw, Texas, native.
The Jaguars then scored twice in a six minute span to go up 3-0 after 60 minutes.
Estelle Flanagan's goal in the 55th minute on Audilia Vargas' pass doubled the lead before Katerin Morales finished off a pass from Kaitlyn McCarty six minutes later.
It was Flanagan's first goal of the season and 21st of her career. It was also Morales' first of the season and brought her career total up to five.
SAGU (1-0-1) pulled one back in the 62nd minute on a goal by Stephanie Hernandez. Paula Gomez and Anna Bewley each scored in the 87th minute to level the match.
The Jaguars are scheduled to face Wiley College on Thursday at Houston Amateur Sports Park.
