No. 15 Jags third after opening round at Schreiner
KERRVILLE – The No. 15-ranked UHV men's golf team is in contention of the Schreiner Shoot-Out after the first round.
The Jaguars shot a 301 in the opening round to finish third and will enter the final round six strokes behind host Schreiner. UHV is three shots behind Texas A&M-San Antonio.
Enzo Dakiche set the pace for the Jaguars with a one-over 73 at The Club at Comanche Trace, putting him T-4 and four shots off the leader, John Martinez from Schreiner.
Coming off a win at the Claud Jacobs Invitational last week, the Paris, France, native went one-under through his first 15 holes with three birdies and 10 pars.
Paul Chopin (75, T-11), Nathan Biais (76, T-14) and Joshua Van Der Wath (77, T-20) each were within the Top 20.
Hayden Hardwick shot a 79 in the opening round and is T-26 after 18 holes.
The tournament will conclude at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
