No. 15 Jaguars set for tough field in The Battle at Laughlin Ranch
The No. 15-ranked UHV men's golf team will get to test itself against a loaded field this week.
The Jaguars are set to compete in Wayland Baptist's The Battle at Laughlin Ranch in Bullhead City, Arizona, starting Monday. The 17-team field for the 54-hole tournament features nine teams ranked in the Top 25, including No. 2 Keiser (Fla.) and 2023 National Runner-Up The Master's (Calif.).
UHV is coming off back-to-back second place finishes at the Claud Jacobs Invitational and the Schreiner Shoot-Out.
In seven tournaments this season, the Jaguars have finished in the Top 3 five times with two wins.
Enzo Dakiche has proven to be extremely consistent this season with an adjusted scoring average of 72.1 this season in 17 rounds with a win at the Claud in February. The sophomore from Paris, France, is the 42nd-ranked golfer in the nation according to Scoreboard Powered by Clippd.
Fellow Frenchman Paul Chopin has been equally as consistent this spring, averaging 73.8 in two tournaments this semester.
In their last tournament at Schreiner, the Jaguars shot rounds of 301 and 298 to edge out NCAA Division III Cal Lutheran by one stroke.
This is the next to last regular season tournament for UHV, which hosts the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament for a fourth consecutive year April 29-May 1 at Victoria Country Club.
