
No. 15 Jags finish in Top 10 at loaded Battle at Laughlin Ranch
BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – The No. 15-ranked UHV men's golf team turned in a good week of work against the strongest field its seen this season.
The Jaguars finished seventh in Wayland Baptist's The Battle at Laughlin Ranch Golf Club, shooting 295-291-303—889 in the 54-hole tournament.
Four of the six teams in front of UHV were ranked higher than the Jaguars in the last NAIA Coaches Poll: No. 2 Keiser, No. 4 Ottawa University Arizona, No. 6 Wayland Baptist, No. 9 Texas Wesleyan
Sophomore Enzo Dakiche gave the Jaguars a strong start through 36 holes, shooting rounds of 73 and 69 at the Par 72 course. Dakiche had a team-leading five birdies in the second round.. He finished T-9 following a 75 in the final round.
Joshua Van Der Wath closed the tournament strong going 75-70-73—218 in three rounds. In his final two rounds, the South African carded eight birdies to help him to a T-11 finish.
Both Dakiche and Van Der Wath tied for the 14th-most birdies in the field
Freshman Hayden Hardwick finished T-39 after shooting 74-75-77—226 to finish T-39.
Nathan Biais shot rounds of 73-82-78—233 (T-72) while Paul Chopin went 76-77-82—235 (T-80).
After the first two rounds, UHV was T-4.
The Jaguars next tournament is the Texas Wesleyan Spring Invite at Squaw Creek Golf Course April 15-16.
