
Jags finish fifth at Waco River Classic
WACO – The UHV men's golf team wrapped up play at McLennan College's Waco River Classic on Tuesday with a fifth-place finish.
The Jaguars shot rounds of 283, 288 and 296 for a three-round score of 869 at Bear Ridge Golf Club.
Richman Houston (68-72-73—213) led UHV with a T-11 finish at three-under. The Midland native opened the tournament with a four-under 68 on Monday with five birdies before adding four more in the second round. He carded a one-over 73 in Tuesday's final round.
Joshua Van Der Wath (71-76-72—219) and Nathan Biais (74-70-75—219) each tied for 29th at 3-over.
Enzo Dakiche turned in two rounds under par for a 38th-place finish (71-71-78—220). Paul Chopin finished in the top 50 of the field of 93 golfers, including NCAA Division I players, after rounds of 73, 75 and 76.
The Jaguars will host a tri-match against Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M on Oct. 3 at Victoria Country Club.
