No. 17/19 Jags hosting UHV Fall Classic on Monday
The UHV men's golf team will look to close its fall schedule on a strong note with the UHV Fall Classic at Victoria Country Club on Monday.
The Jaguars, who were recently ranked No. 17 in Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches' Poll, are coming off a win in a tri-match with NCAA Division I schools Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern on Oct. 3. Prior to that, UHV had Top 5 finishes at the Texas Intercollegiate and Waco River Classic.
Joshua Van Der Wath set the tone for the Jaguars in their tri-match, shooting a five-under 67 with five birdies and an eagle.
Freshman Nathan Biais led the team with seven birdies last time out en route to a four-under 68.
As a team, UHV shot a 281 against Prairie View and Texas Southern. The team holds a stroke average of 287.3 through seven rounds this season.
Competing in the tournament are Our Lady of the Lake, University of Dallas, Louisiana Christian, Blinn College, Texas A&M-San Antonio, Centenary College and University of the Southwest.
Play starts at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
