UHV’s Biais named to Ping NAIA All-Region team
NORMAN, Okla. – Nathan Biais has had a stellar freshman season for the No. 15-ranked UHV men's golf team.
On Tuesday, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced its Ping NAIA All-Region teams with Biais earning one of 14 spots on the All-West Region team.
"I'm very grateful to receive this honor," Biais said. "I've worked very hard this year to be able to help my team however I can. Being recognized like this, means a lot to me and I'm looking forward to helping our team compete for the national title this week."
The Chassors, France, native is the 34th-ranked golfer in the NAIA according to Scoreboard powered by Clippd and boasts five Top 15 finishes with his signature performance coming in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament.
Biais shot 10-under over three rounds to claim the individual championship and power the Jaguars to a fourth consecutive conference championship.
"I'm proud of Nathan for his Ping NAIA All-Region recognition," said head coach Garrett Adair. "He played very strong for us this spring and helped us close on a high note by leading us to victory at conference along with the individual title at 10-under. Nathan works very hard on his craft and is more than deserving of this award."
The Jaguars are set to compete in the second round of the NAIA Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday, where they hope to be one of the 15 teams to make the cut.
