Men’s golf at No. 17 in latest Bushnell/Golfweek poll
The UHV men's golf team came in at No. 17 in the second Bushnell/Golfweek NAIA Coaches Poll, which was released on Friday.
The Jaguars fell one spot from the opening poll, released on Sept. 2.
UHV has turned in Top 5 finishes in each of its first three tournaments this season. Most recently, the Jaguars won their tri-match with NCAA Division I schools Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern on Tuesday.
Joshua Van Der Wath paced the Jaguars on Tuesday, carding a five-under 67 with five birdies and an eagle at Victoria Country Club. Freshman Nathan Biais led the team with seven birdies on Tuesday en route to a four-under 68.
In addition to the Bushnell/Golfweek poll, UHV was ranked 19th in the NAIA preseason poll. The first regular season poll will be released on Nov. 3.
UHV's next tournament will be the UHV Fall Classic Oct. 16-17 at Victoria Country Club.
