Bio
Garrett Adair begins his third season as the Head Coach of the Men’s and Women’s golf program for the University of Houston-Victoria.
Adair is the third head coach of the UHV program and begins his sixth season at UHV. He served as an assistant coach for three years prior to being named head coach.
During Adair's first year, the Jaguars won the Red River Athletic Conference tournament and finished fourth at the national championships. That is the best finish in all of school history.
In 2021, his teams captured their first Association of Independent Institutions Conference titles and berths to the NAIA National Championship. It was the first trip to nationals for the men, who finished the year ranked No. 14 in the nation, and second trip for the women’s team.
The UHV men’s team won three of the five events it participated in 2021, while the women’s team claimed two tournament titles.
Adair joined the program after spending a year as the volunteer assistant at the University of Idaho for the Men’s team.
Garrett played four years of collegiate golf, including one year (freshman) at Western Texas College, one year (sophomore) at North Idaho College, and his final two years at the University of Great Falls (Renamed the University of Providence-Great Falls).
He was a team captain for his junior and senior season at UGF. While at North Idaho College during his sophomore season, he posted a career best 68 in the MSU-B tournament with the team taking the title. Also while at North Idaho College the team rose to as high as No. 7 in the NJCAA Rankings.
Before college golf, he earned four letters while competing for the Moscow (Idaho) High Bears, was the 2010 Inland Empire District champion and finished fifth at the Class 4A state meet in 2010. He graduated from UGF in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance.
He is a native of Moscow, Idaho.
