Women’s golf takes fifth place at Waco River Classic

WACO – A top 10 finish by Emmily Bickelmann helped propel the UHV women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at McLennan College's Waco River Classic.

Bickelmann opened the tournament with a 75 at the par-72 Cottonwood Creek Golf Club on Monday. The Weisbaden, Germany, native wrapped up play with an 81 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 10^th place.

Mia Lerma shot rounds of 80 and 83 to finish T-16.

Caitlyn Niemietz shot rounds of 84 and 88 (T-32) while Evelyn Nguyen shot rounds of 85 and 88 (T-35).

The Jaguars will host Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M in a Tri-Match at Victoria Country Club on Oct. 3.
