Game 1
Texas A&M Texarkana
The UHV baseball team was swept in its Red River Athletic Conference doubleheader with Texas A&M-Texarkana on Sunday at Riverside Stadium.
The Jaguars (8-2, 1-2) fell 4-0 in Game 2 of the series before being unable to find more late heroics in a 4-3 loss in 12 innings in Game 3.
UHV rallied to tie Game 3 twice, the first in the sixth inning on an RBI walk from Kaden Fikac. An RBI groundout by Raul Lopez tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth inning.
After Adam Garren's sacrifice fly in the 12th inning put the Eagles (3-8, 2-1) up 4-3, the Jaguars put the winning run on first with walks by Hal Perez and Kyle Barosh. Jean Michael Gonzalez couldn't keep the line moving as he grounded out to first for the final out.
Gonzalez was the lone Jaguar with a multi-hit performance on Sunday, going 2-for-6 in Game 3.
Hayden Leopold had a double in Sunday's doubleheader, the 40th of his career and one shy of John Longoria's record from 2010-2012.
Brady Parker and Carson McKenna each took the losing decisions on Sunday.
The Jaguars will face their first road trip of the year when they head to San Antonio Friday to face Our Lady of the Lake in a three-game conference series.
