The UHV men's soccer team walked away with a 2-2 draw in its season opener with Texas Wesleyan on Thursday.
After Thursday's result, UHV is unbeaten in seven of its last eight season openers.
A first half goal by Einar Rolfsen in the 31st minute, assisted by Ryan Naidoo and Diby Kouassi, gave the Jaguars a 1-0 lead. It was the first career goal for the Norwegian forward.
UHV (0-0-1) doubled its lead in the 53rd minute when Kouassi's header on Naidoo's corner kick found the back of the net. It was also the Dallas College Richland transfer's first goal in a UHV jersey.
Texas Wesleyan (0-2-1) used a pair of second-half goals to equalize the match. The first in the 67th minute from Augustas Aldonis and the equalizer in the 87th minute from Pablo Bances.
The Jaguars had an opportunity to steal the win in the 88th minute, but Naidoo's shot hit the crossbar.
Naidoo led the way with three of the Jaguars' 10 shots in the match.
UHV returns to The Cage on Saturday to face Southwestern Assemblies of God in another non-conference match.
