Pair of second half goals lifts women’s soccer past Huston-Tillotson

AUSTIN – The UHV women's soccer team used a couple of second half goals to pick up a road win on Saturday.

Alva Klockare and Kyleigh Spree-Kolos each found the back of the net to propel the Jaguars to a 2-0 win over Huston-Tillotson University in Red River Athletic Conference play at Onion Creek Soccer Complex.

Klockare, a native of Borlange, Sweden, opened the scoring in the 75th minute on a pass from Trine Stenderup-Jorgensen. It was the first career goal for the freshman and second assist of the season for Stenderup-Jorgensen.

Spree-Kolos, a graduate senior from Victoria, provided the brace in the 84th minute with her team-leading sixth goal this season off Klockare's assist. Spree-Kolos has scored five goals in the last five matches. She had a team-high three shots on goal for the Jaguars (6-2-0, 3-2-0) on Saturday.

Sophomore goalkeeper Franciezca Blancaflor earned the win in goal after making four saves in her first clean sheet of the season.

The Jaguars return home Thursday University of the Southwest, and next Saturday against Paul Quinn College, both in RRAC play.
