Women's soccer tabbed 8th in RRAC Preseason Poll

WACO – The Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer preseason poll was announced on Friday.

The UHV women's soccer team was tabbed to finish eighth in the poll as voted on by head coaches in the conference.

The Jaguars (6-7-5 in 2023) are eager to start the season with a mixture of veterans and newcomers, including All-RRAC first team selection Trine Stenderup-Jorgensen, a sophomore from Aabenraa, Denmark, and honorable mention pick Estelle Flanagan. Flanagan, a senior from McKinney, netted a team-leading seven goals last season while Stenderup-Jorgensen scored three times and had five assists from her defensive position last season

UHV is looking to make its third trip to the RRAC Tournament in the last four years this season after narrowly missing out last year.

"We have a good group that we're excited to get to work with," said head coach Adrian Rigby. "Our staff and players have worked hard to prepare all offseason, and we're ready to get the season started."

The Jaguars are scheduled to open the season on the road on Aug. 29 at Nelson University (formerly SAGU) and Texas Wesleyan on Aug. 31 before their home opener against Schreiner on Sept. 13.
