Women’s Golf closes out first tournament of season

WESTWORTH VILLAGE – The UHV Women's Golf team wrapped up its season-opening tournament on Tuesday.

Freshman Madeline Pate had the best individual finish at T-21(74-82-82—238) at No. 5-ranked Texas Wesleyan's Texas Intercollegiate held at Hawks Creek Golf Club.

Senior Emmily Bickelmann had the best final round for the Jaguars with a three-over 75 to finish T-25 (84-84-75—243).

Kaitlin Lopez finished T-32 (82-87-86—255), Evelyn Nguyen finished 36th (96-82-80—258) and Remme Trujillo finished 40th (89-87-93—269).

UHV closed the tournament in sixth place as a team (329-335-323—987) thanks to a 12-stroke improvement.

The Jaguars return to play Sept. 16-17 for the Waco River Classic.
