Boonsrirat closes strong as Jags finish play at The Battle
BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – It's not about how you start, it's how you finish.
Lucky Boonsrirat did that, closing with two strong rounds to go 80-72-71—223 to finish 11th at The Battle at Laughlin Ranch Golf Club, which featured 12 Top 25 teams in NAIA Men's Golf. The New Braunfels native was 1-under in the final 36 holes at the Par 72 course.
His performance helped UHV to a 13th-place finish as a team after going 308-311-315—934. It's his second-best finish this season after a third-place finish in a dual match with Texas Southern in October.
UHV's next top finisher was senior Joshua Van der Wath who finished T-47 (74-83-77—234). Paul Chopin was T-72 (78-77-84—239) while Nathan Biais was T-83 (76-79-86—241). Edgar Hinojosa rounded out UHV's scores by finishing 85-83-83—251.
The Jaguars will next be in action at the St. Mary's Battle at Riverhill held at the Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville.
